Chad has been working with Doyle Sails Detroit owner Al Declercq for over 4 years to develop the very best Ensign racing sail.  We have done extensive testing on the genoa in particular, to produce an all purpose sail that is powerful in all modes of up wind sailing in any wind condition.  For 2015, we have even tweaked our main just a touch to help the sail resist the top batten “wedge” affect for a longer period of time.  Doyle sails were on the 1st and 3rd (tied for 2nd) place boat at the 2014 Nationals in Pentwater.  Doyle Ensign sails are becoming the new standard and are sold exclusively by Ensign Spars.  Although the sails come with many great features, the best is the service and tuning advice you get from Chad after the sale and at every National Regatta.

Doyle Cruising Sails

Our cruising sails have the same shapes as the racing sails, but are made of a softer cloth that allows them to last for many years without loosing shape or cracking.  Not only do we offer the standard class legal Ensign sails in a crusing format, but we also offer a self tacking jib system and an asymmetrical spinnaker, as well as a full batten main.  If you combine the full batten main, self tacking jib, and asym spinnaker, you can make your Ensign the ultimate single handed day sailor that is exciting at all points of sail!  The asymmetrical spinnaker is something you really have to see to appreciate and it gets even better when you put on a top down roller furler.  Contact for more details on cruising and racing sails.
